Most of Africa didn’t have an industrial revolution. Rural Africa doesn’t have infrastructure for a tax-paying middle class.
Our goal is to prepare rural Africans to work remotely for foreign companies, so that they can support their families.
From rural Africa, it looks like everyone else has more money and resources than them. And there isn’t a clear reason why. Rural Africans are educated, hard-working and kind.
We can solve this problem without changing capitalism. In fact, capitalism may be the best solution.
Most Africans would be surprised to learn that they have a unique advantage to earning money. If a rural African competes with an American — where both have the same skills, network, and experience — the African wins. Why? Because a capitalist will always choose the cheaper of two options, all else equal. In an increasingly remote world, the cheapest labor has the advantage.
